Giles: Loch Ness Monster?
Buffy: 'Locker' monster is what he said. But it wasn't really a monster. It was, like, this big arm that came out of the locker, but then we opened it again, it was gone. Nothing.
Xander: This was right after Buffy's history teacher starts doing some freaky channeling thing in class.
Giles: Ooh! Sounds like paranormal phenomena.
Willow: A ghost? Cool!
Xander: Oh, no, no. No. No cool. This was no wimpy chain rattler. This was 'I'm dead as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore.'
Giles: Well, despite the Xander-speak, that's a fairly accurate definition of a poltergeist.

Giles: Uh, I wish we had time to celebrate properly. However, we have two victims: Jeff Orkin and, uh, now Platt. Uh, maybe there's something they had in common.
Faith: Missing internal organs.
Giles: Besides that.
Oz: Debbie. Well, victim number one, Jeff. He was in jazz band with us. They used to horse around.
Faith: They were screwing?
Oz: I don't think so, but he hid her music comp book once.
Buffy: And we know that Debbie knew Platt. I mean, she was seeing him and way vocal about not having love for the guy.
Oz: Add this and stir. I just saw Debbie a minute ago sporting a nasty black eye.

Thanks to nondenomifan and thenewbuzwuzz, and a call for volunteers!

Our floating backup editor [personal profile] nondenomifan helped us get through a busy summer, and is moving on. And former chief editor and now regular Sunday editor [personal profile] thenewbuzwuzz is looking to retire from editing sometime soon. Many thanks to both of them!


This means we are looking for someone to step in as Sunday editor or potentially take another day of the week. (Other good options right now are Monday or Wednesday.)


Being a Herald editor means making one newsletter post a week. After some training and a few test posts, it will generally take roughly 2-4 hours (once a week) depending on one's level of perfectionism. Most of the potential links come to us pre-gathered in one tidy Dreamwidth reading page. You'll also have help with turning the day's selection of links into a formatted list: you can either paste everything into our HTML template that already contains all the formatting tags, or use some alternative tools (including the fabled Pinboard!) that will do part of the pasting and sorting for you. We're happy to explain and show how everything works from the ground up. :)


If once a week sounds like a bit too much, we are also open to training a new floating backup editor, and a new tumblr-only volunteer. (Tumblr-only volunteers help by reblogging things on a particular day to the sunnydale-digest.)
